Just a brief newsletter this month with a couple of reminders.
Our final open meeting of the year is on Friday 15 November, in the Free Church, St Ives, at 7.30pm as usual. We have invited Stuart Orme to tell us What they didn't teach us at school. Stuart is an historian and museum professional. He is now curator of the Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon.
Stuart describes his subject as “a thought-provoking and naughty view of the past! A humorous look at some bits of history that the Victorians wouldn’t have approved of, as well as posing thought-provoking questions about the way we look at history.”
The St Ives Photographic Club have invited our members to visit and to take part in their Annual Photography Exhibition. This also is held in the Free Church, on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th November between 10am and 5pm. Entry is free and you will be able to take part by voting for your favourite image.
In addition the Club will be showing a range of members’ digital images on a large television. New this year is the opportunity to enter DPI images to be displayed at the exhibition by tagging instagram posts with the hashtag #sipcjudgeme. If you use instagram and want to tag any they invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to do so.
I look forward to seeing you all on Friday 15th November
Looking forward to seeing you at one of our events over the coming year.
