Dear All,

A short note to remind you our next open meeting is this Friday, 19th November, in the Free Church, St Ives, at 7.30pm. Please note that Market Hill and Bridge Street are closed to traffic from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st November for a Street Fair and the Christmas Lights switch-on. I understand car parking will be suspended during this time.

Neighborhood Plan

For our meeting we are pleased to welcome St Ives Town Councillor Nick Dibben who will bring us up to date on the progress being made with the development of the Town’s Neighbourhood Plan. A Working Group, consisting of councillors, representatives of local interested organisations as well as local residents have developed a draft Plan which was published in July. You can see this at https://www.stivestowncouncil.gov.uk/Public_Consultation_29968.aspx

Councillor Dibben will bring us up to date on the further work now taking place to prepare the final draft and take that forward through the remaining stages before a Local Referendum is held to decide whether or not to approve the Plan. If approved the Plan will stand alongside other planning documents and guide development of the town.

Meanwhile, my thanks to Philip Noble who attended the Remembrance Service last Sunday and laid our wreath. He tells me he “felt privileged to be present, and was impressed by the number of people who came".

We look forward to seeing you at the next Open Meeting on Friday 19th November.

Kind regards

David Stewart
